Surprise~!

Sat Sep 26, 2009, 11:27 AM
Well, maybe even a couple.

First, this journal post. I haven't posted one for loooooong time.

Second, I actually started to post art again. And it actually looks nice.
A shout-out to *kunoichi-san for inspiring me to try watercolours again.

Third, I've actually gotten a bit more confident in my drawing skills up to the point of considering doing a kiriban (that's how you call it, right?) for anyone who catches my 10'000 pageview. So well, if you actually catch it, then give me a shout and I'll draw you pretty much anything to the best of my capabilities, though it might take a bit ;)

And also I'm starting my IT Course @ Silesian University of Technology in a couple of days. Omigosh* it's gonna be so weird. The most scary thing is how everything seems to be lacking any organisation.
Yesterday I was @ the Researcher's Night ** and there seemed to be a lecture about the backstage of computer games. I thought it looked kind of interesting and went to the lecture hall it was supposed to be held in. When the lecture started it turned out to be a totally different lecture about robotics (on a sidenote - Asimo is cool) - interesting in it's own right (though IMO too basic for something as grandiose as technological university ;)), but not what was there in the timetable online.
And after the lecture, when I grabbed a timetable brochure from an "infodesk" (they were actually just lying someplace, not even marked that you can pick-up timetalbes there) it came out that it's totally different from what was there on the internets... Great...
And in the end, when I found my lecture it turned out it's jsut some kids playing Wii... Wee, that was anticlimactic.
Is all higher education as disorganised as this? Oh well, it's gonna be weird...

* - hey, lame words are cool xD

** - for me it was kinda boring, it was mostly low-level things for n00bs; at least last year they had an interesting lecture about relation of IT, molecular biology and genetics. Nothing thislike this year tho :(

Also here, jsut for kicks (or for the lulz if you prefer them ;)), is a bonus links area ;)

"Naraku no Hana" alto sax cover:
    [link]
If you have ever watched Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni you should recognize this song, if not then I still think it's worth listening to. Saxophone covers are even cooler than violin covers xD
Check out his other covers, he's really good. It's not only nostalgic songs like To Zanarkand from FFX or Tori no Uta from Air that sound great on saxophone, but also dynamic songs like Macross Frontier's second opening, Lion.

"Uninstall" covers:
This is an opening from anime Bokurano, an eerie and sad song by Chiaki Ishikawa.
I love it and it's certainly among the top 10 of my favourite openings. I thought it can't be any better, but I was wronged by those two videos:
[link] - piano + three people chorus
    [link] - piano + cello
These two totally blew me away. Kudos to those guys.

Golden Sun music:
I've finally got around to play Golden Sun and it's a great game. It's funny how I enjoy gameboy games more than PC ones, but that's how it is. Maybe it's the fact that I don't buy recent titles, but rely on those provided on Cover CDs of game magazines and they aren't always good games.
Anyway I somehere around the beginning part of the game you enter a secret sanctuary of elements. The place looks really magical and then you hear the music. Incidentally my emulator was lagging a bit producing a bit uneven rhytm which made the song even more awesome, but it's still great in the proper version:

I also liked the sailing music from later in the story:

I don't think you'll get anything decent during the summer holidays from me...
Except some emo crap ;)

I screwed the school completely and now I need to learn & stuff, which pretty much won't leave me time to do much drawing/writing/etc.
Sorry guys.
Well, not that anyone is watching my crap anyway ;)

Oh, from random stuff - I saw the PotC: At The World's End and it was totally awesome.
Don't listen to those that the end was crap, because it wasn't a happy end. They are just stupid.
Also, in regard to that, I totally fell in love with Davy Jone's music box theme. It's, like, infinitely BRILLIANT !!! I even learned to play it on piano :D
It's soo sad and touching... A powerful piece of music...
Huh ? I start to talk like a girl... Bleh...

Other random stuff - I'll probably be attending to Porcupine Tree concert in Cracow.
Yipikayee ! The magic date is 07.07.07 :D
I've listened to their support (Pure Reason Revolution) and they are also good. Hope it'll be fun.

Anyway, better luck to you with your stuff :D

Honestly, I don't have much to say at the moment...
Well, except the usual "school sucks".

I haven't done anything decent these times...

Oh, yeah.
I have an idea for a comic or something like that...
But I think that with my drawing skills I certainly won't be able to do anything decent...

PS.
You might want to check this out - [link]
It's a sort of an action RPG for PS2. I probably won't be able to play this (no PS2), but I kind of like the art style (it's really neat - it looks as if you are playing an intricately detailed cartoon) and music (the BG music of the website is just, like, awesome).

  • Mood: Depressed
  • Listening to: Tool, Porcupine Tree, SHnY OST, E7 OST
  • Reading: "The Deluge p.1" by Sienkiewicz
  • Watching: Lost Season 3 ep 19 aka. Hell

Ds, Winter Break and other fun stuff...

Tue Feb 13, 2007, 12:32 AM
Whew...
I made it to the Winter Break. Now I need to make some updates on my copybooks...
Why can't I be a conscientious person... That would save a lot of that !@#% now...
Whatever...

So we've got Winter Break and that means...

  • More drawing !

  • And finishing that damn fighter for AFF. It's been waiting for too long wasting Megane Rid's awesome design.

  • And more drawing !

  • And maybe some more 3DS Max.

  • And going on a camp... WTF ?! Me going on a camp ? Sounds ridiculous. Heh, won't bother you with this anyway, I'm starting to be boring.

Soah, in other news...
You may have noticed some D stuff here and there:

[link] - First character sheet done ! Four to go.

[link]

That's because I realized that doing Alzraa comic would be too hard to me, to cope with it.I would also totally mutilate this world with some unrealistic drawings, so I decided to wait till my skills level up a bit.
Instead I'm doing a Dejimon comic with a friend :P It's certainly easier to draw.
I have to finish four other character sheets and maybe a villain D (spore walkers influenced) :)
Oh and I'll maybe make a site for this...

That would be it.
Sorry for making you bored :D

  • Mood: Relief
  • Listening to: Tool, Coma, WoW OST (TBC theme = win)
  • Reading: "With Fire and Sword"... again ?
  • Watching: Lost Season 3 ep 7 aka. Run over by bus
  • Playing: Tribes: Vengeance - it's a good, nice game :D
  • Eating: Popcorn, but I would rather like pancakes
  • Drinking: Water... and some Wine ;D
